On this page, RusticWise is also referred to as the “Site.”

In 2015, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released new rules for Disclosure Compliance. These rules are set in place to ensure that readers or visitors of websites know if the writer/website is sponsored, endorsed, or partnered with a different company. In blog terms, the readers must know if the writer/website is making money by sharing a link or product.

In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site:

  • Any/all of the links, posts, and photos on RusticWise are affiliate links from which we may receive a small compensation from sales of certain items (at no additional cost to you).

For more information about, please also refer to Privacy Policy and Terms.

What are affiliate links?

An affiliate link contains a special tracking code which earns the Site a small commission if a purchase is made. The price you pay for a product is the same whether it’s an affiliate or non-affiliate link. In other words, you don’t pay more if you happen to click on an affiliate link.

Purchases are made on external affiliate company websites. When a reader clicks on an affiliate link located on RusticWise to purchase an item, the reader buys the item from the seller directly(not from RusticWise).  Amazon and/or other companies pay the Site a small commission or other compensation for promoting their website, products, or services through their affiliate program.

Affiliate programs

RusticWise uses two main types of affiliate programs:

1. Amazon affiliate links

RusticWise is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program which provides a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to, amazon.com, amazon.ca, etc. Amazon offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links. Each of your purchases via our Amazon affiliation links supports RusticWise at no additional cost to you.

Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

If RusticWise links to an Amazon product (an affiliate link), and a reader places an item in their Shopping Cart within 24 hours of clicking the link, the Site earns a small percentage of the sale. Amazon links are not “pay-per-click.”  If you click on the product link and shop around Amazon to purchase something else, the Site would earn commission on that sale.

2.  Product affiliate links

Product affiliate links work in a similar way; if you click a link and buy a product, RusticWise earns a percentage of the sale or some other form of compensation.  Prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link. These links are not “pay-per-click.”

List of companies with which the Site has an affiliate relationship:

  • Perdue Farms: A Family of Farmers Since 1920. For 100 years, Perdue Farms have worked with small family farmers to raise animals with care. Perdue Farms is passionate about farming, sustainability, land preservation and healthy and nutritious food.
  • SunPower: Since 1985, SunPower has offered the world’s most efficient, powerful, and reliable solar panels, and we’re still the only company to provide an all inclusive 25-year warranty on our entire solar system.
  • MaryRuth Organics: MaryRuth’s believes that making the best supplements for your health means creating products with non-GMO, plant-based, vegan ingredients, with the fewest number of allergens as possible.

A note about sponsored content

In general, we don’t write sponsored posts. As a Site, we want to ensure the information we present to you is unbiased and trustworthy.

However, if we do decide to write an occasional sponsored post, this information will be disclosed clearly at the beginning of the article.

If we use Amazon and/or other affiliate links for product recommendations on any social media, we will include a link to this page, or put “(affiliate link)”, or #ad in the post.

Interest-based advertising (display ads)

This Site is affiliated with Ezoic Inc, for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Ezoic will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Ezoic’s privacy policy, click here: https://www.ezoic.com/privacy-policy/
